The two towns of Los Cabos, San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas are famous the world over for the intriguing, startling and thought provoking combination of ocean, desert and mountains. We might add the super charming colonial look and feel of San Jose del Cabo, or even the sometimes hyper-modernity of Cab San Lucas.
San Jose del Cabo, the decidedly more tranquil of the two towns of Los Cabos, is an artsy, sophisticated and very laid back town. Loads of coffee shops meet galleries, boutiques and fancy little eateries, and all in a setting sure to stand out in your memory. The play of the elements, atmosphere and never-ending natural beauty, make it one of the most popular places of the Baja California peninsula. It’s a chic alternative to the much more touristed Cabo San Lucas.
Very few beaches on the peninsular are truly safe for swimming, so Royal Holiday guests shack up in the Park Royal Los Cabos for outstanding service and lots of room, and many of them stay literally two to three weeks every year. Vacations include desert hikes, chartered van trips to Cabo San Lucas and all kinds of boat trips, to see the famous arch, the whales and the dolphins.
With miles of rugged coast and beach facing the always dramatic Gulf of California, a vacation here usually includes long days at sea as well as long drives into the desert. Less than a two-hour flight from LAX, it's also a truly exceptional family vacation spot, a golf paradise and, yes, a remarkable natural landscape.
